A sprint is a three month quality improvement collaborative with low performing participants who agree to small tests of change that can be measured across a short time frame. Subject matter experts or high performers offer topic guidance and support with participants identifying and testing interventions.
The CDI Sprint assisted hospitals and health systems implement quality improvement techniques to reduce root causes of healthcare-onset C. difficile and the impact of culturing practices. The tools and resources that were utilized included: the CDI Process Improvement Discovery Tool, the CDI Coaching Guide, and the HRET HIIN CDI Change Package. Led by the HRET HIIN CDI Team and peer advisors, participants had access to four (4) webinars, peer to peer sharing, and one-on-one coaching.
