Published: by American Hospital Association/Health Research & Educational Trust

Topic: Pressure Ulcers | Resource type: Compendium

A sprint is a three month quality improvement collaborative with low performing participants who agree to small tests of change that can be measured across a short time frame. Subject matter experts or high performers offer topic guidance and support with participants identifying and testing interventions.

The HAPI PFE sprint consisted of 5 focused virtual events designed to assist hospitals in assessing the root causes of HAPI harms and provide guidance and support on how to address HAPI challenges and gaps in practices through patient and family engagement strategies. The tools and resources that were utilized in the Sprint were: the HAPI Process Discovery Tool and the 2018 HRET HIIN HAPI Change Package. There was a final summary virtual event open to all state partners and hospitals.
