The Importance of “F”: Family Engagement and Empowerment in VAEs

Published: by American Hospital Association/Health Research & Educational Trust

Topic: Ventilator-Associated Event (VAE) | Resource type: Webinar

Ventilator Associated events (VAE's) are a leading cause of harm in our ICU's. Implementation of the ABCDEF bundle is part of the solution to decrease VAE's. The "F" element of the bundle "Family Engagement and Empowerment" is a critical aspect. Join us on August 30th from 11-12 CT for the HRET HIIN virtual event, "the Importance of "F" Family Engagement and Empowerment in VAEs" to learn how to better engage and empower families and patients in your ICU. Hear from nursing leaders at the Vanderbilt Institute and VA Medical center on the strategies they have implemented to ensure patient and family engagement while decreasing harm. Please invite your ICU team to this event: Nursing leaders, front line champions, PFE leaders, physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers.
